Hello,
I read your blog about Henry's surgery - how is he doing? What a cutie he is! I have a 9 year old Bichon Frise that is exhibiting signs of this condition. He was recently not using his left hind leg and I took him to the vet, and he was put on anti-inflammatory, which helped alot, but think he will eventually have to have the surgery also. Is Henry doing well? After his surgery was there someone home with him? I'm so worried about my little Cujo.

I just dropped off my girl at the vets this morning. I'm rather anxious about the whole thing and pray the recovery isn't too difficult. I have a 6lb Chihuahua and she's having both legs done. I'm not sure what that's going to be like and how mobile she'll be but we'll find out soon enough. I too decided to blog about the whole experience and will update as we progress. If anything it might be of some help to others considering the surgery for their dog. Blessings All!

Thanks so much for the codeine recommendation! He seems to be doing well with the pain, he mostly just wants to bolt out of his crate. I had been giving him glucosamine pills, but I might try the liquid version. Thanks again! :)

Hello!
Thanks for your comment on my post about Luxating Patella surgery. I think it's wonderful that you are posting about Henry's journey as well. I'm happy to hear that he pulled through his surgery and is doing well. If he is in pain, children's liquid codeine works wonders, but you will need a prescription. The liquid glucosamine is great because it helps the joints and Paddington is doing much better since being on it. It took about 2-3 months before she was fully using her leg again - I can't imagine how having two done at the same time is going to be. Best of luck - I know he'll pull through!
